Hi everyone!
I just joined the Disaboom community and one of my projects that I do at home is that I am a designer for a website that makes T-shirts for people with Cerebral Palsy. My friend and I are looking to expand to include other disabilities because people are raving about our shirts.
We think the best ideas (and the most clever and humorous) come from the people who live the disability every day, so we're calling on YOU GUYS.
If you have a great T-shirt idea that you'd like to see on a shirt, describe it to me at: hadleyhadleyhadley+shirts@gmail.com
You don't need to be artistic---leave that to me and my friend! We'd prefer ideas that are more Design/Image based rather than just some text on a shirt. Unfortunately, we can't offer you any $$ for your idea, because we only get $2 from each T-shirt sale and we're starving college students! We'd credit you by name in the T-shirt description if you'd like, though!
Thanks for your input, guys!
Excellent! I'll put my thinking cap on.

How about shirts and pants or skirts with tear away hems and seams ? Like the kind that strippers use - I'm serious. Dressing is a hard part of the daily routine. Instead of buttons or pullover type garments - velcro. It' works great on my shoes especially when our fingers don't quite do what we tell them. Or shouder pain makes it hard to pull over our heads. For t-shirts a right or left side seam depending on which side your able to deal with better or north or south paws. Maybe plain ones at first then colored cottens with pockets. Designs, logos and specialty later. I don't know the cost of materials involved or the manual labor but I'm sure there'd be a marketing void. And that could be skillfully advanced by maybe say a reality show or the Today show or even Oprah. Just take the right sales pitch I suppose. You wouldn't even need to handicapped - these clothes would great for those on the go and needing a fast and quick change too. Or even those with expanding waistlines or those dieting with thininng ones. Taking no more space in our luggage then regular clothing. It's just a idea. I have no artistic or designing skills nor know the labor involved.
