Hi everyone!
I just joined the Disaboom community and one of my projects that I do at home is that I am a designer for a website that makes T-shirts for people with Cerebral Palsy. My friend and I are looking to expand to include other disabilities because people are raving about our shirts.
We think the best ideas (and the most clever and humorous) come from the people who live the disability every day, so we're calling on YOU GUYS.
If you have a great T-shirt idea that you'd like to see on a shirt, describe it to me at: hadleyhadleyhadley+shirts@gmail.com
You don't need to be artistic---leave that to me and my friend! We'd prefer ideas that are more Design/Image based rather than just some text on a shirt. Unfortunately, we can't offer you any $$ for your idea, because we only get $2 from each T-shirt sale and we're starving college students! We'd credit you by name in the T-shirt description if you'd like, though!
Thanks for your input, guys!

cool idea, you should post some pictures of successful designs here when you get a chance.
LOL...Sorry, I had to laugh because my husband always tells people or the kids,
Don't worry, she's not drunk, she just has MS.
As you know, we slur our sppech, or fall over when we turn our heads, etc. Can't walk a straight line to save my life!
I fell in the yard the other day..it was so cute...my dog came running over and thought I wanted to play and was jumping all over me and doing the "dog laugh"! It is a Chihuahua..so it was not a 100 pound dog trying to crush me to death! he was rolling on his back and licking my face...etc. It really made the "fall" fun, and not such a bummer of a reminder that I have a disease that causes this kind of thing.
I think your T-shirt idea is great.
I have a friend that has a severly autistic child. She wanted to make him a t-shirt for him because people are always scowling at her when he is in public because he screams or throws tantrums, etc. She wanted on that said "I am Autistic, what is your excuse?" But, I did not think that was appropriate. I think there is a fine line between what is appropriate and what is not. Even my thought above...might not be too cool. Who knows...what makes one person laugh, offends others. Hard to tell!
Sorry, I know you were looking for designs, but, I would have to think of something to draw then scan. I will try, but, that is hard to do, even though I am an artist! I will see if I can do something.
Michele, Hi I'm new to this site and your dog story just made me laugh. My husband has MS (1988). When he was still walking but starting to fall now and then, he had a similar incident. I was out one day and he decided he would go out on the back deck to sit. Well he fell. Our dogs ran up to him just licking him up and down. He could not get up by his self. He was out there for about 1 hour when my daughter in law stop by out of the blue and saw him laying there. She ask him if he needed help or if he was just sunning.
Thanks for the memory and giggle

LOL back at ya!
That would make a great T-shirt...maybe a Stick figure of a person falling and going "boom" and have the words "Watch for Frequent Falls!" Anyone good at drawing? I am an artist, but, drawing is not one of my traits and with my dexterity, the stick figure would look more like a branch from a Cork screw willow!
That's hysterical! Multiple Sclerosis or MS could be in bold letters with an explanation in parenthesis or on the back of the shirt. How about: Frequent falls, mispronunciation, slurred words, random thoughts and clumsiness plague relatively beautiful, talented individuals!
LOL! I thought my medic alert was obnoxious!
Maybe we can comment, why, yes, I'm sober! it's the M.S. that's not! LOL!!!

I used to fall a lot when I could walk and continue to fall out of my wheelchair occassionally. When people come to help me up they always ask if I'm alright and I tell them "I'm okay. I'm a professional faller!"
an allien shaking hands with a person with ms . he says [ whats wrong with all these other humans ]
