Hello everyone, glad to be here. I'm a T-6 para, 15 years post.
I really like that this site has personal blogs. In fact, I was inspired to write a bit on something I'm sure all of us using a wheelchair have encountered - Door Divers. Please give it a look and let me know what you think.
I'll talk with you all later!
~ Steve
P.S. If the site admin is interested, I found this site via an ad on intellicast.com.
Hello Steve,
welcome to Disaboom.
Daisies
Hey Steve, glad you're here--I'm off to check out your blog!
Actually, I'm not a newbie, I've just been able to get back into the site. I've been having trouble with my password. From what I gather so far, it seems I'm the the oldest one here! Anyway, I just thought I'd say hi to everyone!
Hi Steve;
Welcome to Disaboom, please feel free to post any information you think would be useful to others. And thanks for letting us know about intellicast.
Enjoy your day
HI STEVE WELCOME ! HOPE YOU ENJOY THIS SITE AS MUCH AS I DO RAINEY

Well Steve, I read that blog.
I'm sure you needed to get something off your chest, but I'm also sure I wouldn't want to spend a day with you.
And I have only little patience with folks who can't get their teeth apart. I think I read you are a grown man. And you want to tell me you can't communicate your wish to get the door yourself?
There is no need to accept unwanted help. If I don't want people to hold the door for me, and they simply don't react to gestures, or words, I just stop in my tracks.
I just hope you only use all that profanity in blogs, and not in the real encounter.
Daisie,Thanks for reading and responding. Perhaps you mistook my blog entry a bit. I have fun with writing and that means a bit of exaggeration for effect. Dramatic license, if you will. The only time I can't get my teeth apart is during a late night with a few strippers and some blow. I assure you I have no problem "communicating my wish to get the door myself." Assertiveness has never been one of my deficiencies. As far as profanity goes, I try to be civilized, but it can be a vulgar world.Don't be so sure you wouldn't want to spend some time with me, I bet we'd have fun - I always do - and find plenty of common ground. I'd definitely make you smile.Take care,~Steve
