    • I'm a 36 year old male and I live in Calgary Alberta, Canada. About a 2 years ago things started to hurt on me that I just passed off as getting older. The bottoms of my feet were hurting so bad that it took the better part of the day until the pain would subside. things just kept getting worse until finally I started looking for help to find out what was wrong with me. I was diagnosed with RA. It hit me hard. So hard that I couldn't walk. My hands and wrists were so bad that I couldn't turn a door handle.

In the last year I have learned alot about alternatives to perscription drugs and the pharmasutical "cure". I have found great relief through alternative herbs and supplements, and exersise. I have found that detoxifying has been of great benifit. I'm am looking for more information and input from people that have RA. Any kinds of relief that people have found or anything else that prvides relief is of interest to me.

I have come a long way from where I was 10 months ago. I have a long way to go but I believe that there is a cure for RA. I know there are people out there that believe there is a cure. Any input the anyone has, I am interested in your stories and how you are dealing with your situation.

Looking forward to your input!!!Big Smile

    • I am a bit older but started getting sore at age 30.  I have Ra along with Fibromyalgia, M.S. and a few other bone and muscle problems.  I just call it "The mess" lol

If there is some kind of helpout there, pass it along.  All I get it, "Well there's no more we can do, loose a bit of wieght could help."  Then they put me on steroids which cause weight gain.  LOL before I was too small, now I am too big. lol

Its not the doctor's fault.  And yes I think there is a cure.  My sister is going to school for alternitive medicine and Massage therapy.  She has alot of knowlege on the subject of healing.  I will ask her if she knows anything that may be helpful for you.

Just don't give up and stay active.  My fingers are not easy to move but I keep at it.  I do have a wheel chair I use when I have too but walking is better when I can.  Using a cane keepsme from falling and cracking my hip again.

Its not easy to adjust but its worth it.

      Margarita

    • I have rheumatoid arthritis, I got it shortly after a very bad rootcanal about five years ago. It progressed extremely rapidly, as i have a family history with it.

i have no movement in my right elbow, and limited in my left, as well as my left foot turns outwards.. went through a period without being able to walk. My neck causes me very scary problems

sometimes i feel like im going to die.

    • Hi Whitey72,

I was treated for RA for 3 years til the pre-screening for my achilles surgery showed no bone damage. That wonderful surgeon sent me to a specialist friend of his who found it was Hyper Flexibility Syndrome which mimics RA but meant I could stop 12 pills a day to surpress my immune system. My regular arthrtis doctor just thought it was in remission and didn't want it to come back. She had never heard of Hyper Flexibility syndrome at all back then. During those 3 years I did some searching and found a book that helped me get off the anti-infammitories with just changing the way I eat. That was the first pill I was able to get rid of... in fact the very week I tore my achilles was when it happened.

The book is called The War Within by Dr. Floyd Chilton. The first part explains how and why this works... techie food and doctor geek to me. The back is a nice diet and recipes. I chose the middle where the good and bad foods are listed. I live alone so I don't keep that much food here or cook much.  I found I was eating a lot of the bad stuff like red meat, lunch meat, eggs and even grouper OOOh and MSG in chinese food too . I cut everything way back or off and made changes to the foods better for me. He also recommends taking Omega3s and borage oil spaced out 1 set morning and 1 set evening meal. I noticed it in that first week, but it took my brother-in-law 3 weeks to see a differance. We both notice too when we do eat something on the bad list. If I have a steak or burger my hands and fingers will really feel it for a couple of days. I've talked to others that also have seen a differance when they cut off the fake sweetners in diet sodas and other drinks.

I also have a deep tissue massage done every 2 weeks. I hurt for a day or so but then feel like a normal person for a while.

I hope this helps you some like it has helped me.

      Shelly
