I AM NEW TO THIS AND I HOPE TO GET THE HANG OF IT SOON. I HAVE A NUMBER OF HEALTH PROBLEMS BUT THE ONE I AM FIGHTING THE MOST IS PARKINSON'S. I CALL IT MR. PARKS AND HE IS NASTY SOME TIMES. IWAS TOLD 2 WEEKS BEFORE MY SON'S WEDDING NOT A GOOD TIME. I TRY TO HANDLE THIS BUT SOMETIMES IT IS SO HARD. I HOPE I CAN GET FEEDBACK FROM SOME OF YOU DEALING WITHIT TOO.

I'm Kara and I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta (brittle bones) and I use a manual wheelchair...I'm a therapist (psychologist-to-be) in a children's psych unit right now and am working on finishing my Ph.D. My "night job" is writing and advocating--oh and I love hanging around here when I can.

hi dosha, it s nice to meet you. i am paralyzed and lost a leg from a motorccle accident. i don't know anyone with parkinsons but you are the first person for me to meet with it. did you just recently get disagnosed? we might not have the same problems but we all hang in there for each other. welcome to disaboom! let us now if we can help you in any way ok?

HI DEBBIE! THANKS AND IT IS VERY NICE TO MEET YOU. IWAS DIAGNOSED IN OCT. 2006. I HAD A TIA AND THAT WAS JUST 2 WEEKS BEFORE MY SON'S WEDDING. MY DOCTOR TOLD ME I HAD PARKINSON'S AND I DID NOT BELIEVE HIM. HE SAID I COULDN'T FLY TO FLORIDA I SAID NOTHING WOULD STOP ME. I WENT. I NEEDED TO SEE MY BABY GET MARRIED TO THE BEST GIRL IN THE WORLD. MR. PARKS HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. I FALL A LOT. I LOVED RIDING MOTORCYCLES NOW I CAN'T. I WOULD LOVE TO COUNT YOU AS A FRIEND. WE NEED EACH OTHER EVEN IF OUR BATTLES ARE DIFFERENT

Hi dosha, I'm Sandy I have Oateoarthritis and Fibromyalgia. I also had surgery on my spin, they fused together Lumbar 3, 4, & 5 and put in two new discs [lower back]. That was I Oct. of last year. I agree with debbie we may not have the same pains and problems, but we can listen to each other and sympathis. People with no problems don't always understand. Welcome to site.
