    • Hi,

I am new here and wanted to say hi to everyone. I am so thankful that I found this site. I have no support system and this site is wonderful. I look forward to talking with you and sharing and helping others. Just a little about my situation. I am living with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Adhesion Disorder with Chronic pain, and diabetes. Also newly diagnosed with some form of inflammation of my joints. Pain is with me all the time and it becomes very discouraging and depressing. I have no support system. I have lost my family and my job due to my condition. With these types of illnesses as you all know you look fine on the outside so people asssume you are ok and don't understand. I am looking forward to finding support here from people who do understand. Life is unbearable and there doesn't seem to be any hope of things changing. To all of you who suffer with a disability, may you be blessed with support and healing.

      Pam

    • Hi Pam,

My name is Ashley. I'm 24 and I have 3 beautiful girls and my youngest 2 was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at birth. She has many problems on the inside but when you look at her all she does is smile on the outside. God gives people with these types of illnesses the inner strenght that you think you don't have. This is so hard for me but somehow I'm getting strenght from somewhere. I'm sorry that you have to go through this. I wish there was a way I could help more. I need a little help myself. I feel like I'm fighting the whole world sometimes. If you want to chat write back. I hope you feel better and that this helps a little. We'll talk to you later.

                                 Ashley

    • Hi Pam......welcome to disaboom. I;m a paraplegic from a horse accident 25 years ago. I also have fibro......chronic fatigue..and diabetes.....so I can relate to your problems. I do have sympathetic Dr.s who have prescribed various pain meds. The most effective for me have been Neurontin and Lyrica. I also take Norco { a form of Vicodin } , for really bad days....they're complicated by caudal equine syndrome.....sharp shooting pains in the leg areas.I was actually in a clinical depression after nine months of undiagnosed fibro in 1992.Depression is actually a symptom of fibro, as I'm sure you well know. All we can do, is take it one day at a time. Theres a whole section on fibro right here in the disaboom site....you might want to read some of the experiences of others. Just know....you're NOT alone......peace and love......Norma

    • Hi Pam, I'm Sandy. I had surgery last Oct. and had vertebra's 3, 4, & 5 fused together and two discs replaced. Sense then I have had chronic pain. I was finally diagnosed last Monday with Fibromyalgia and Osteoarthritis. I know your pain, I am here if you need to talk. Hope to see you at the chat rooms. Check this site out to help people around you to maybe understand how you feel not how you look [lifeinpain.com/node/2151] it really explains it very well. As Maggie says Gentle Hugs. Sandy

    • Thank you all for your support and caring. It is such a breath of fresh air to be able to talk with people who truly understand what it's like to live with multiple disabilities and get through each day. I have lost my marriage, my relationship with my two older children because they don't want to deal with it. I have been living with the Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Fibro for almost 18 years. The chronic pain from the adhesions for 5 years now. The diabetes for less than a year. It seems to be an ongoing thing. Always something new. I had my appendix rupture back at the end of 02 and then got hernia's from that surgery. I have had 6 surgeries in 5 years and am looking to another one. I have a new hernia now on top of everything else and they won't repair it until I have gastric bypass surgery, which I don't want to have because it will only make the adhesions worse and mean more pain. I already take so many meds that I have my own drugstore and they know me by name at my pharmacy. That is pretty bad. I have been divorced for over a year and am in a new relationship which I don't know will work out because I don't know if he can deal with it either. The only support I really get is from my parents and my youngest daughter who is 13. I am going through a really bad spell right now and each day is a real challenge. I hate it because I can't plan anything in advance because I don't know how I will feel from day to day. This whole thing really sucks and I am sick of dealing with it all. I have chronic depression and anxiety and that doesn't help either. I haven't given up yet, I keep searching for answers and hoping that something will change. Thank you all for your support and I do understand and feel your pain. I wish all of you a good day tomorrow. Thank you.

      Pam
