Hi Disneycruz:
I work at the Spina Bifida Association (SBA). If you are interested in becoming part of our ListServ community, please contact me at raustin@sbaa.org and I can walk you through the very simple steps of signing up. In addition, we publish a quarterly magazine that will have its first issue deliver to our subscribers this month. Later this year we will have an electronic newsletter that I would love to have reach everyone on this discussion board.
We work very hard at SBA to make sure that your needs as well as others in the Community are met. Your contribution is greatly valued. I hope to here from you soon. Thanks for your time.

Dear Hakenaton:
I am sorry that you did not find the information that we provided very useful. We try hard to provide aluable information to the SB Community. Therefore, I wanted to let you know about other resources that we currently have as well as some coming up this year this year.
We have revamped our newsletter Insights to a magazine format. It will be available this month with three remaining issues to be distributed throughout the year. If you are interested in subscribing, let me know. We will also have an eNewsletter later this year.
We have publications on our our Web site www.spinabifidaassociation.org or www.sbaa.org that can be purchased by clicking on Marketplace.
We have ListServs that you can become a part of as well.
I want to make every effort to find valuable resources for the SB Community. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!

Spina Bifida Association
Hi Nickie02:
My name is Robin Austin, and I work at the Spina Bifida Association (SBA) in Washington, DC. Thank you so much for posting the information on our organization.
I am a part of the SBAGNO.
Hey Sharon,
I'm Karl and I have Spina Bifida as well...L3, L4. Like you I'm pretty high functioning as well. I use a wheelchair too but I drive, had a job up until a few months ago (love those layoffs:) and live an active social life with many friends. Medically I've done ok I guess. I've had about 8 or 10 surgeries which from what I know is a rather small number compared to some of the other folks with SB so I'm pretty lucky. I've had really great doctors througout my life so that has been a good thing. I'm a musician and have written and recorded a few of my songs. I also have 2 degrees..one in music business and one in information technology. I have a web site you all can check out that I built. It's www.karlrusso.com
I've done well but times have been tough in the past. Dating has been difficult and the more I do things the more I realize that I need to pay more attention to the fact that I am disabled. For most of my life I just kind of did whatever I wanted without much regard to SB. That's good in a way because I don't let my disability stop me but at the same time it can be tough becuase we all spend a lot of extra time catering to you disabilities and when you sort of live you life like it doesn't exist or it doesn't matter you end up sacrificing something such as health or whatever. There needs to be a balance somewhere and I guess I'm in the process of finding that now. Well if you or anyone has any questions feel free to contact me. Take care.
