Tim: I think I covered your concern under item #5. My maxims are not in any particular order.
Other maxims to be aware of : (1) Always consider any firearm you handle to be LOADED until checked (2) Never point a firearm at anything you don't intend to shoot. (3) Always be aware of the area behind your intended target.
Best wishes, Jeff

Tim,
To quote Will Smith, "I gotta get me one of these!" Nice "flashlight." Thanks for sharing!

Firetooner,
Agreed, you and I are very familiar with what a gun will and will not do. However, I meet a lot of people who don't realize how destructive, and final if that's the right word, that pulling a trigger is. Using a gun is in my opinion the best defense. I just want everyone to realize that, unlike other methods, if you shoot some one, they are probably worm food. There's nothing more dangerous to you than pulling a gun on an attacker and not being prepared and willing to use it.
Becky,
Yeah, that's pretty much what I said when my brother showed me his. His is much cooler though, clamped to the rail of his M-4, lol...
