Muscular Dystrophy

I am new on here ,and was rather surprised to notice there doesn't seem to be a discussion group for

Those afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy.  I have a type known as FSH MD . I have three adult sons

that also have the disease. FSH is said to be the third most common form of MD - affecting about one in

20,000 in the general population. There are over 30 types in all. The most common being Duchene's

Most people are made aware of this type as it gets the most media exposure every year  with the broadcast of the MDA Telethon with Jerry Lewis as it's MC for many years now. Raising money tocontinue the research to someday find a cure for this horrible disease.

Just wondering if there would be enough members / future members  here to keep this as an active

We do have Muscular Dystrophy on the list of discussion forums to be added.  I think it is scheduled to be added this week, so keep your eyes open.

hi stevefsh, now i got my answer about if you were paralyzed. i don't know how many people here have md but i am glad you are here and i am sure there will be some coming if they aren't already. your sons also have it too i see, are all of you in wheelchairs? well wanted to tell you hello again and i didn't see this before, sorry. take care stevefsh.you can start your own forum you know, do you know how to? let us know if you don't ok?

Thanks for getting back to me. And on your other question... I have no clue how to start my own forum. So you mean it can be a private/ locked forum ?  Is that what you are meaning ?

We added a Muscular Dystrophy Forum and your topic was moved there today.  What Debbie means is that you can start your own Discussion Topic in any of the existing Forums.  But only the Disaboom Site Administrator can actually add a new Forum.

 I know few topics that would be successful and is successful in other forums but probably you set it up as it needed!

I have md too, i have occular pharyngeal 9apparently-lol) but I am more in line with the symptoms of limb girdle md, nice to meet you too, and I am interested in anything to do with md:)

I have been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy Unspecified.  My muscles work at 30% leaving me pretty weak.  The only other person I ever met who had this was diagnosed at age 67 and died by age 70.  I like your picture!
