    • I am new on here ,and was rather surprised to notice there doesn't seem to be a discussion group for

Those afflicted with Muscular Dystrophy.  I have a type known as FSH MD . I have three adult sons

that also have the disease. FSH is said to be the third most common form of MD - affecting about one in

20,000 in the general population. There are over 30 types in all. The most common being Duchene's

Most people are made aware of this type as it gets the most media exposure every year  with the broadcast of the MDA Telethon with Jerry Lewis as it's MC for many years now. Raising money tocontinue the research to someday find a cure for this horrible disease.

Just wondering if there would be enough members / future members  here to keep this as an active

group / forum ??    Thanks for listening everyone.!  Wink

More info. at   www.mdausa.org    and    www.fshsociety.org

    • We do have Muscular Dystrophy on the list of discussion forums to be added.  I think it is scheduled to be added this week, so keep your eyes open.

Also, we recently added new articles about Muscular Dystrophy which can be found in the Health section of the site so check those out as well.

Thank you for your feedback and welcome to Disaboom!

    • Hi Debbie,

Thanks for getting back to me. And on your other question... I have no clue how to start my own forum. So you mean it can be a private/ locked forum ?  Is that what you are meaning ?

      Thanks.......steve

    • Hi, Steve,

We added a Muscular Dystrophy Forum and your topic was moved there today.  What Debbie means is that you can start your own Discussion Topic in any of the existing Forums.  But only the Disaboom Site Administrator can actually add a new Forum.

If you have any questions as you're navigating the site, you can email me at: feedback@disaboom.com.

      Welcome to Disaboom!

    • I have been diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy Unspecified.  My muscles work at 30% leaving me pretty weak.  The only other person I ever met who had this was diagnosed at age 67 and died by age 70.  I like your picture!

    • My name's Blake. I'm a grad student at Mississippi State. I suppose I would belong to this forum. I have Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type II. I've participated in MDA Summer Camp and the local MDA telethon. I enjoy music, Web design, and just about anything computer-related. What about y'all (couldn't help it!).
