    • I totally agree it should be legal.  I have less pain and stiffness, and it helps to relax my mind, I am extremely irritable and nervous most of the time, and being like that all the time just takes too much out of my life.  I have never driven, stolen, or hurt anyone while using, and I definately have witnessed a lot of that from alcohol users.  When is someone going to wake up about all this?!??

    • I have fibromyalgia. A yr&1/2 ago I lost everything-my house,$, & health insurance. I'm living in temporary housing. A neighbor offerred me weed. I can't smoke. She made me some weed cookies. They were a life saver. I hadn't slept in so long, I'd given up. I no longer have access to them, nor do I have any pain meds. Any hope I may have had, is now gone. In CA, medical marijuana is legal. However, it's very exspensive & therefore out of my reach. It costs at least $250 to get a "prescription" from a Dr to even purchase it. Also, even tho it's legal here; the Feds can still arrest you.

So needless to say: MARIJUANA SHOULD BE LEGALIZED!!!

    • Should be legalsised for medicinal uses, most defintely! Works really well in brownies or tea if you dont want to smoke it. Havent heard the cover for "Smoke Two Joints", but its one of my favourite Bob Marley songs! And you dont have to be smoking weed to like his music...I loved all his music long time before I ever was "converted" from what I used to think about weed before I started getting pain ;)

    • I agree with absolutely every word that Becky said about the legalization of marajuana.Nothing more to add.......nothing more to say.......just can't say it better.Just wish the people who don't suffer illness.....especially pain......wouldn'y expound so vehemently about a subject that could help spo many people. THAT really bugs me...........Peace and love......Norma

    • I smoke two joints in the morning.
I smoke two joints at night.
I smoke two joints in the afternoon, it makes me feel alright
I smoke two joints in time of peace, and two in time of war
I smoke two joints before I smoke two joints,
And then I smoke two more!

Like most of their reggae-ish songs they performed "Smoke Two Joints" as a cover...I forget who actually wrote it but I think Bob Marley sang it as well.

Every time I get an e-mail from this I get the Peter Tosh song "Bush Doctor" stuck in my head. (So legalise marijuana down here in Jamaica...)

    •     I just wanted you to know that I agree with you 100%. I personally will probably never smoke again as I have emphysima but who knows. I found that it had a very calming effect on me. It also relieved a great deal of physical pain. I think that if the government legalized it and taxed it, treating it basically like alchohol is treated, this country could save billions of dollars not having to jail people whos only crime is simple possession or selling a small amount of it. They also could recieve billions of dollars by taxing marijuana growers and retailers and it would still be less expensive to the consumers. It also would all but eliminate people selling pot that has been laced with other drugs. I need to stop now as I need to go to sleep but I would be very happy to continue this "discussion" in the future. My email is Judomanras1124@aol.com .I hope that we can speak in the future.

    •  I believe Smoke Two Joints was originally done by a band called The Toys.

    • It sooo works for me as a much needed appetite stimulant, muscle relaxant, anti-inflammatory, and last but certainly not least for me, as a mood enhancer. Too bad it is way out of my price range and stressful to worry about how to get some without being “criminal” LOL A rather funny historical note is that when they first tried to get people worked up over how “dangerous” it is, they were laughed at & had to rename it “Marijuana” (rhymes with that den of evil Tijuana) and spin from there {eg. Reefer Madness)!

One of the best resources is the online study paper on Marijuana and Medicine from the National Academy of Science’s Institute of Medicine: http://www.nap.edu/readingroom/books/marimed/index.html  Also, a couple of articles from National Geographic: The Marijuana Debate: Healing Herb or Dangerous Drug? http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/06/0621_050621_marijuana.html Marijuana Has Anti-Inflammatory That Won't Get You High http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2008/06/080624-marijuana.html And here is information on the “legal” GW Pharmaceuticals progress with using Sativa in their compounds already sold in other countries, including Canada. http://www.gwpharm.com/sativex.asp Best of Luck & Peace Out ÿ

    • Save the Trees – Hemp (Cannabis) was also blacklisted because it can be grown faster and be used for many of the things trees are cut down to make, including plastics. This led Hearst to jump on the bandwagon to outlaw its growth because he had just invested in a large timber tract hoping to sell to the newly emerging plastics industry. Note, he was a media mogul and powerful enough to help engineer the negative “spin” to frighten people into allowing this cash crop to be taken from them. What a rich history MJ has!

    • Its awful what people will do for money!! Hemp can be used for so many things...a very useful plant! I'm sure I read somewhere that Abraham Lincoln smoked weed too? Wasn't it legal back then? Here in South Africa it's really cheap.  I'm really lucky to have a friend , he's a Rastafarian ( he's Polish and has the most brilliant dreads...they go all the way down past his waist),   He's an awesome friend, a really good guy, (not because he helps me out ), he's always bringing some plant or herb round for me to try to help out with the pain, or some reggae he found some where that we'll listen to and have great conversation over some coffee and a spliff maybe! He's definatly one of the more interesting guys I know!

    • Hi, I just wanted to say I appreciate the information you entered ! I am a retired nurse and I understand there are bad side effects to anything we may put into our bodies. What it honestly comes down to is a persons personal beliefs and how they choose to express them. In my humble opinion, the do gooders should do their good for themselves, and the ones taat disagree should do what is good for them! This is what makes the world go round. After my perscription insurance denied my pain medication for another glitch in the system, I can understand alturnative pain coverage! After waiting 4 days for the "system " to be corrected and demanding to speak to a supervisor, my problem has been temparaily fixed. Those who do not have chronic pain 24- 7 should not tell others how to control it by the means they can afford and obtain. I definately do more research on the pros of this subject!!! Thank you once again for your imput. Doris
