Hello folks---my name is Lonnie. I am using SONGSMITH here on disaboom. I am dripping wet brand new, and still feeling my way around. Still working on profile, etc ( basic is up.) Thing is, I want to join a group for people who suffer with depression, panic, and anxiety ( even bi-polar)-- and haven't learned all the ropes here yet, so decided to jump in this way. If any of you good folks could lead me to a good depression group, please let me know./// As a writer, I hope to get into the blogosphere here soon--but as for now, could use all the guidance, help, and friendship I can get. Respectfully, Lonnie Fowler, The Southern SongSmith

Hi, Lonnie, and welcome to Disaboom. I'll bet you'll find a lot of people who can help you. And you might not know this, but if you don't find a group in your area of concern, you can start your own. That's one of the great things about Disaboom. I'll look forward to reading your blogs.

Hi Lonnie,
I just read your post and wanted to suggest a good self help book interim to the discussion group here at Disaboom. In fact I just posted a blog that deals with depression, anxiety and anger. The book is Change Your Brain, Change Your Life by Dr. Daniel Amen, his book can be found at any of the online book stores. If you would like to know more information, please send me a message. Hope this helps .... Cin

Hi Lonnie!
Welcome to Disaboom. I think blogging sounds like an excellent idea and also look forward to reading more from you. I work with kids and adolescents that deal with many of the mood/anxiety issues you mentioned-in both an inpatient and outpatient setting so I'm pretty familiar with how difficult it can be. I'm really glad you've joined us here and will share your perspective. If you need anything or have any questions, feel free to let me know!

Hey Lonnie! Welcome to Disaboom. Ya did good kiddo, in posting your first discussion here. It takes a while to get used to the site, but take your time and have fun looking around. It's a great site, filled with lots of great people. I don't know if we have a depression group though. If we don't, you could start your own! Take a look in the "Groups" section here. Look at the top left of your screen in the orange bar section, just to the left of "Chat Rooms and Discussions." Good luck to you!
