Hi everyone, I’m writing this post because it seem like every time I turn around something else pops up wrong with me. I’m not crying about it but I’m just wondering if anyone else finds this happening to them too. I am double below the knee amputee, I have several fingers also missing (6 actually), I have a defibulator implanted in my chest, I have hole (not an open hole) in my throat from the ventilator I had for 6 months. I have had numerous blood transfusions, was on dialysis machines, congestive heart failure, pneumonia and I spent 7 months in hospitals. Seven months I was away from my home, 3 months of the 7 I spent in ICU, my poor husband spent every day with me while I was in ICU because the doctors said I wouldn’t live. I was in a coma for a couple of weeks but I have no memory for the first 3 months.
All of this happened because my ovaries died and I became septic, I had no real pain before I finally went to the hospital. Anyway after I got home and started my new life as a amputee I found out I now have Hepatitis C……Ok I can live with this, it take years to progress. I have been an amputee for 3 years now, a Hepatitis C person for a year now, and I just found out last week that I have diabetes. What else can I get….lol. I have never been a sick person in my life except for colds and such. Life goes on and now I have to watch what I eat. I am amazed that I can even stay awake during the day I wear a 100 mg fentanyl patch, pain pills and almost all my prescriptions (13 total) say they cause drowsiness. Plus Hep C and diabetes can cause fatigue. I am happy I’m alive and awake! Life can throw some weird stuff at us at times, and I seem to keep catching that stuff. I also forgot I had cancer too. After I got home from my 7 month hospital stay, I found out I had cancer of the utersu, I was under the impression that I had a full Hysterectomy, but found out it was a partical one. I had to go back to the hospital and deal with another painful operation recovery. There that's it.Thanks for taking the time to read my story.

You do have a full plate! ! ! And that is what we call "multiple disabilities," and they can really go 'over the top,' to say the least. But I just want you to know that if you check my very first blog, you will see a list that almost rivals yours, and I have been kicking around now for over two decades. Sometimes it can take a lot to finish us off ! !
If you try to keep some spirit high, just give yourself one bit of pleasure each day, take it day by day, you may surprise yourself with what you can withstand. I survived hospice, and was on nearly 200 mg of oxycontin for over a decade, and withdrew myself in 2006, and dealt with the pain, and am still here talking about it. Not to say, "oh great for me," but to say, "you can do more than you imagine." The mind can get caught in negativity, but if you let your spirit soar, as someone very wise once said, it can take you to the place where you want to be. I don't want to sound like a Pollyanna; just want to give you some hope.
Please PM me if you need an ear. Warmest regards, bonnie
