Hi, Glad you shared with us. I have MS, but I relate to what you're describing. After a bad fall I herneated L4-5 and have been bedridden ever since. Was para six years ago and couldn't move or feel a thing. Was super suprised when 18 months later I went into remission and walked again! That lasted a few months until I fell (in PT no less)! Now, I'm able to move my legs some, but can't count on them to hold me up.
I live in pain 24/7. Some days are worse than others. Pain rules my life, but not my attitude. I am grateful for the pain and thank the Lord for it! Nerve regeneration hurts-burns-itches-stabs like ice picks-spasms... The ulternative is not my number one choice. Been there and it's a miracle I got anything back! I choose the pain! I do not take pain meds nor do I drink. No medical marijuana No ulcers- good! People can die from those sores! Praise the Lord for Fanny Cream, Chucks and Depends! I am blessed friends!
Sorry if I can't call you Thanatos. I'm too much into life and I'm excited that you are having regeneration! Maybe Stem Cells will be available some day. Who knows! I believe in miracles!

Hello and welcome to Disaboom! I can't help you with the nerve regeneration question, but I wanted to stop by and say hi! Good luck to you!

Howdy and welcome to Disaboom T.
I don't believe it's only regenerating in a short amount of time and that's it. The body is constantly regenerating itself, hair grows, nails grow, even the liver will repair itself. Right now, some 6 years Post-Op, I get tingly feelings in parts of me that I didn't feel before. My doc swears by B-6 and B-12 for helping the nerves... I don't know if it's true, but I take them now... who knows? Can't hurt! I know of nothing else that would help, although stem cell research has some promising preliminary tests done. I'm all for stem cell research, especially for quads and paras. Just hope it happens in our lifetime.
