hi beth honey, yes you most certainly do belong here and i sure am glad that you are here with us so we can keep an eye on you and help you through to a point where you will be the one helping someone else and saying" i remember when i was where you are right now!" ya i am a positive thinker lol.
seriously it sucks to feel lousy physically which i am sure is a big part of your depression. i think you need some tlc and a few friends, that can go a long way sometimes. how about if we even tried some type of program on here that we can all go through together..like an excersise and diet type of thing? maybe someone knows of online type of programs that work [i am new to computers so i don't know].
hopefully we will get some more feedback and suggestions to help you out. until then stay tuned to your new second home here lol. i want you to stay ok? have a great day beth and talk to you soon ?

I can not say "Thank You" enough !!!
I am seeing my Dr tomorrow and will ask just to be sure I am still OK to swim.
I am also ( now due to accident = huge weight gain ) a diabetic, so I need to check in with him on a few things about diet and exercise.
I was thinking - maybe......... just maybe I can make a few goals for December. Like going swimming say 5 times that month and some other small goals. I have stopped all my back PT and such as it just did not seem to be helping but maybe It is something to think about starting again.
I don't know how you all have done it - but I feel hopeful that I can learn to live a new life and be HAPPY again - Thank You !
PS: debbie I read your page and you have been injured 28 yrs? You don't even look 28 yrs old lol really ! :)

hi beth, i think this is great news and also setting small goals is also a good idea. i took that picture a couple of months ago [sept]. i am a vegetarian so maybe it's the diet which i think good nutrition will also help you feel better and help with the diabetes. we're gonna hook you up kid don't you worry. it might take a little longer because i am not a professional at this but we will get there hopefully with everyones help. have hope and keep hope!

I did not get very good news today from my Dr.
Hope I spell this correctly. My left foot has neuropathy. I don't fully understand what it is - I do know it hurts like crazy and has something to do with the nerves. He said it is from either my back injury OR from my diabetes. Does it matter?
My meds for diabetics are now doubled - had lots of test ran today that I get results back on tomorrow. He also put me on a new med for the N condition - gabapention 300 mg 2x daily.
The lovely news he told me was if the med changes do not correct this N thing, I could lose my foot.
I called my Aunt when I got home and told her and she said "well 5 of the people on your moms side all had legs amputated as of the N thing" Gees thanks Auntie next time I need cheered up I'll be sure to call you again
Is it OK that I am "itching" here or should I not be doing that?
HOWEVER as silly as it may seem I thought of you guys here today and I must say you guys gave me strength ! When I found out about my back injury I cried and cried and well any ways 3 yrs later here I am trying to be a big girl now. But today when he told me I was like "well crap". Upset yes but doing OK :)
Again - silly to some, progress for me. I did my hair today and some make up, and wore something other then a sweat outfit lol - My give a poop factor usually is down and I don't do things like this.
I hope I can hang here - as selfish as it sounds I really need each of you.

Sweet Beth,
You're doing well. YOU didn't fall apart! Just take a deep breath and try to relax.
I know a couple of women who have neuropathy and are on medication. Neither one had an amputaion and both are over eighty.
You'll learn to manage the pain through meds and pain management tecchniques. Just take one day at a time. You can do this, I KNOW. Remember, you're never alone.

good morning beth, i see an improvement already in just a couple of days, that is great! like leann mentioned it might not mean the worst. focus on the positive and small changes, little goals, those seem to work for most people.
a small change in your diet, maybe something you don't realise like if you bake use applesauce instead of oil, reduce sugars and butters in half on your cooking,[ even cook with healthy oils if possible]. natural ingrediants are great also,[i know i'm pushing it but organic is even better] the white flours and white sugars are the worst, maybe you can try grain breads and grain pastas. have a glass of water a half hr before meal time and drink tons of water during the day, you will feel less hungry and be doing your body good. last one is a tough one, but if you could get rid of the sodas if you drink them. i drink pomagranite or black cherry soda water if i crave a soft drink. i never liked soda water before but i have grown to like only that and diet sodas and reg sodas taste horrible to me now.
i just thought i might try and throw some healthy tips to get you started on your diet. wouldn't that be nice if we could get you off of your diabetic meds and control it by diet instead? i have heard of people doing this.keep up the great work, i know we have a success story here in the making! we are all here for you too! have a great day, i bet you looked pretty all dressed up too!

The new med gave me terrible side effects ! I thought my heart was going to beat out of my chest.
I called the Dr's office and they gave me a new med - Amitriptylin 50 mg at bed time for nerve pain.
I also had a LOT more tests done yesterday - it turns out that the nurpothy ( sp? ) is from my back and not from diabetes, which I guess DOES make a difference after all. All I got yesterday was bad news from the tests results as far as my back goes - but my grand daughter & grand son are here and the GD is looking over my shoulder lol so I won't go in to all of it until later tonight.
Thanks again for being here for me !!!!! :)
