Hi Boo-bear, im a paraplegic mom, I have two kids, both boys 10 and 13. They both love me very much. My disability doesnt makes me less than a mother to them. I love them so much and still do my duties as a mother. They doesnt mind my disability, as a matter of fact, my youngest enjoys pushing me in my chair around the subdivision that we live in. Im sure your mother loves you very much, she needs your understanding and be more patient.Your not alone. Its great that you found this site, lots of good people here willing to help. God Bless your family.

Hey Boo-Bear,I am a parent also but have 5 children from 22 to 5 months old. I lost my legs when I was 17 in an accident in the service so my children only know me as I am now. My wife lost one leg below the knee and part of her foot on the other side,so there are lots of legs around the house. When my kids were little and I would get home from work they always wanted me to take off my legs and get on the floor and play with them because they felt like I was more like them with myy legs off and they would roll around with me or just play games. I think they thought everyones dad could do that,it was normal to them. Granted when I wear my prosthesis no one could tell I was disabled but my kids would tell people sometimes like they were bragging about it,MY DAD DON'T HAVE ANY LEGS...most people just laughed at them because they thought they were kidding, but to be proud of a child that has unconditional love for you gives you a feeling like nothing else. My kids are proud of me and what I have done with my life. I am just a regular guy when it comes to being a parent.I think thats all any parent wants from there kids is just for them to be proud of who they are.You can still play with your mom and enjoy who she is even if she is limited by her body. You are sure not alone. God bless you and your mother. Bill
