In addition to the above comment regarding diazapan (Valium), it is important to know that it is a drug that stays in the blood stream for about five days, and needs to be taken on its regular schedule, if taken at all. It is NOT a drug to personally tweak, but only to change with evaluation from your doc. It is, as stated, addictive, but that does not mean it can't help. It only means that you will need to have a controlled withdrawal when you no longer need it, and you should not mess with it on your own. That, at least, is what I have been advised at different times in my own illness by my own docs, and I have never had a serious problem withdrawing from it when it was no longer desired. I did withdraw, however, under medical supervision, and took it as prescribed. Bonnie

This is why I love Disaboom so much at times, the wide variety of people and experiences you get on here. It's nice to see people like Bonnie who have knowledge of that medication and can give more acurate advice. I don't know how many times just as a reminder my doctors have said, just keep taking the medications like I'm suppose to. Don't alter it or go off it without my say so. Also cold turkey can be really rough on your system. Try to be careful of the sleep, some times sleeping that much can almost be addictive then all your doing is sleeping through life. Good Luck.
