    • Want $500?  Of course you do!  Show us pictures of your pimped out wheelchair or prosthetic and you just might walk away with half a grand.  That’s right, if you’ve got crazy cool art on your chair or carbon limb show it to the world and get a chance to win some holiday cash.

      Instructions:

      • Pimp your wheelchair or prosthetic.
      • Take lots of pictures of it and post them on your Disaboom.com blog.  All pictures should be in one blog post.  Your blog post will be your entry.  Your post title should read: Pimp My Wheelchair: (enter whatever you want here).
      • All the entries in the contest will be linked from the Pimp My Wheelchair forum (i.e., right here).
      • Vote for your favorite pimped out gear by commenting on a post.
      • The post with the most comments wins!  (Only one comment per user per entry is counted, if you sign up for multiple accounts to boost your comment count we'll know and you’ll be disqualified… play fair people!)

Submit your entry by December 10th, voting ends on December 16th and the winner will be announced December 19th!

    • This is awesome-I can't wait to see some of the entries. I'm totally drawing a blank on this one and kindof have a thing against messing with/adding to my chair....since it's only a couple months old-I'm afraid I'm leaving her in mint condition but I'll definitely vote for other cool pimped rides.

    • This is a great idea and us boys do love our toys.  I'm looking forward to seeing the entries but my chair is just a plain old Quickie 2.  I've had black and silver chairs forever because I like the Raiders and chairs didn't come in orange and brown, which of course is colors of my beloved Cleveland Browns.

Also black doesn't show the dirt as muchBig Smile

    • Nothing unusual here, just a guy in a wheelchair making it in an upright world.

    • This is a fun contest.  I have a question though.  Is there a seperate winner each for wheelchairs and prosthetics?  It's gonna be hard for us bolt on limbs to compete with the likes of the InTIMMidator.  lol  What an amazing chair!!!!  Nice work Timm!!!!

Hey Kara, I'm gonna ship my leg down there.  Can you take it over to Miami Ink and have them put something fancy on it for me?  :-)

      Good Luck everyone!

    • Jay: Good Morning, thank you for the thumps up!

We did it as a project with a ton of help, but the point was to show others, and the world that just because you roll in a chair, scooter, wheelchair...its dosnt have to look "medical".

We just took it to the next level.

My wife and I have "adopted" a little guy Nick in Detroit we meet via the web who like my self has MD, Nick saw our pics of the chair via our myspace page.

      www.myspace/crystalandtimm

So we worked with some vendor (paint/custom car shops) and they also are going to work with Nick on getting his chair "pimped"

I had a lot of places turn me down when we came to them with the ideas.

Now that we did it we get email from lots of places wanting to help others pimp there chairs, scooters etc.

Have to tell you it opens a ton of doors that normally would not be so open!

      Happy Holidays!

    • Congratulations to Timm and his Monster Energy Turbo Q.6000 powerchair in clenching the Pimp My Wheelchair contest victory.  Timm went above and beyond with his techno-accompanied video entry and the sweet embroidered flames and wide range of customizations on his wheelchair all but guaranteed his victory.  Check out his video below one last time and join me in congratulating Timm!
