I believe the main reason the chat rooms are down is because of the childness of certain members. There are certain women and I use the term loosely, that think they are the Queen Bees of the Gen. Chat 1 because they have been in there longer than anyone else. People come in to chat with others who understand their disability not to be insulted. The first time I came in I was treated with rudeness and cattiness. I am so glad that certain people are not privy to private chats. It was amazing how many people private messaged me that first night to warn me how nasty certain people can be. I won't name names you know who you are. Alot of people went to Gen. Chat 2 just to get away from these people. I'm sure Disaboom got tired of all the complaints being sent into them about these members. So perhaps Disaboom is giving these members an attitude adjustment. When Disaboom decides people can act like mature adults and not 2 year olds perhaps the chat rooms will once again resume. People come here to get understanding, help and perhaps a little escape from their physical pain, not to be insulted or treated rudely. Well I've had my say even though I know it will fall on the deaf ears of those people.

When I first joined Disaboom I was excited that the chat allowed me to meet others, encourage others and listen. I do not get go online on the site as regularly as I would like. When I came back about a month later... the folks were not as friendly, thought I was brand new and were not open to me like they had been at first. I kept coming back from time to time and things just kept getting more and more negitive and I no longer felt welcome... so I decided to use my time to do other things. I could not change it... so I moved on...

I checked in today in hopes that things had improved because there were some folks that had been so delightful from the beginning that I was hoping to connect with them and see how they were making out.

I am saddened that the chat had to be taken down...but... if we can learn to be better to each other and use the time on the site to help each other win... the site would grow there too. I still send people to this site... but I had never mentioned the chat... hopefully, once recreated, the new chat will be a great place to share and make friends. I could use friends that understand how it feels to hurt but not want to give in to the pain. Lots of things would be good for me and others if we could be there for each other.

I believe in the site... I hope things get better soon... I hope we all choose to be better...one decision at a time... this is a great community.. I believe in it.

Wah!  I want my chat room back!  The kind folks at Circle Of Friends Radio have started a chat room and it is beginning to grow, but its just not the same.  It is so great listening to music and sharing it with friends ... the thing missing there is the friends!  Maybe it will grow in time...  Still no word from the Powers That Be on the status of the Disaboom chat room?  Is the convention over yet?  Have we given them example that we NEED COMMUNITY?  The discussion forums are good, but I miss the interaction.  Again....Wah!

 I say lets let what happens happen. I want chat back and I think they should bring it back i mean they might as well give us another chance i guess u can say. I mean shell was right disaboom shouldnt be someones life but thats my view anyways. but i dont live everyone elses life so i cant say what people should or shouldnt do.I just say bring it back already lol got goodness sake.... lol sorry that was my bad attempt at humor at like 1 am lol

At this time, we're exploring options for bringing chat back. As Tim mentioned in his blog when the chat was removed, the old chat didn't allow us to use any moderation tools to resolve chatroom disputes without affecting a member's ability to use blogs, discussions, and the entire rest of the Community section of the site. Also, everyone could use chat-- from long time members who respected others in chat, to people who were only there to try to cause trouble. These two issues need to be resolved, and there are many tools and chat programs on the web that could help us do so. The process of choosing one and deciding exactly how chat will be handled in the future takes some time. However, at this point we do hope to have a chat function on the site in the future, though I can't make any absolute promises.
