I am all for site monitoring and stricter access but alot of people on this site used the chat room as there main daily contact with life in the outside world. Shut indoors and not out of choice is no laughing matter and at the very least i feel we should have an official update as to what is happening and timescales as to how long we will have to manage without chat.
If a focus group is to be or has been set up regarding the chat rooms should there be at least a chance for users of the service to be considered in decisions?

I guess the management thinks we don't deserve an update. We're like dogs running around crying for something to eat and they can do whatever they want cause we're gonna keep coming - doh. Wrong!
I thought this kind of behaviour is possible only in the black hole I'm living in, but I guess I was wrong.
Few people started crying (at least I didn't use "whining" - lol) how they are not welcomed and they closed something good, something the majority of people enjoyed. Anyway, I better shut up - lol. I should be familiar with this kind of behaviour so far.

At the risk of being redundant...I will say it again....I MISS CHAT! Maybe you have to be housebound to understand how important this social interaction can be. It is easy to say "Well get out of the house" but it is not so easy to do when you are confined to a chair. I live on a bumpy dirt road which makes everyone drive fast to avoid the bumps, and I'm a mile from town. Going out alone is scary. And finding someone to take me out and entertain me makes me feel like a parasite if not a trick pony.
I was so delighted when I found this place, people who were my peers, available at every hour of the day, and the music was such a bonus! Now I am equally disheartened at the loss of it.
It would only be fair for the management to tell us what their verdict is. But nobody ever said Life is fair.

I've been searching the board to find out why chat is gone, but no luck yet. I am homebound, and the chat was an outlet I sorely needed. It is a shame mgmt. has not realized that the chat draws members.
I am seriously considering creating a temporary chat; at least until disaboom pulls it's head out of the sand...;-P
What does everyone think?? I for one NEED that camaraderie...
