That "clicking" noise the crutches make

I put a dab of Gorilla glue around the adjustment buttons...over time the holes wear allowing a bit of movement between the button and crutch

Joe, I do the same thing.  Only I use super glue.

    •  Different glues have different" stretch" factors. Think Gorrila glue as a little stretch than super glue...think super glue will crack faster over time

Good point.  I'll keep that in mind on the next crutch repair.

    • GOOD:

Yes, the parking is a very good thing!

Being done with my son's grad party (sooooo much work) and seeing him graduate on 6-6-08.

Being cancer-free for three years and living long enough to see my son graduate.

The cool design on my prosthesis.

      This post.

      Disaboom!

      BAD:

The pain in my stump when I walk and/or stand a lot.

Not being able to squat or kneel with my prosthesis on, or off for that matter!

      Gas prices!

      People staring.

      Walking on ice and snow.

      Falling and/or tripping.

      UGLAY:

      My stump.

      Becky

    • Cool idea!

      The good:

Having an intimate aquaintance with the fragility and therefore preciousness of life.
      Parking, obviously!
The perspective necessary to teach successive generations of students about disabilities and the ethics of dealing with PWDs.

      The bad:

Memory loss! I used to have a near perfect memory and this shit sucks!
      Assisstive devices. Hate using them.
Losing words. For an etymology freak, that's crucial!
      Pain, pain, and more pain.
The ever present possibility that this moment could be my last. Then again, that's part of the good, too.

      The ugly:

The ugly attitudes of the ignorant who think we should all be locked away in homes, regardless of ability.
The really ugly? my attempts to be  compassionate toward those people and not default to bitch mode. I'm really, really good at being a bitch!
Finally, the pictures of my swiss cheese brain on an MRI scan.
