I was wondering if any one here has done the Ticket To Work Program provided by Social Security? If so have you had success? Is it something easy to get into? Do you think it benefits you? I've known this kid for years. A student now just a kid out of high school. He's had the Ticket To Work information just sitting in his files for years and I've been working with him a bit about putting himself out there and see what's available. 6-7 weeks ago he told me he contacted them and they were going to send him a package of information, rules, etc. He was told it would take 7-10 business working days. He never got it. About 3 weeks ago he contacted them again saying he never got the information and they had no record of him calling. So he went through it all over again on the phone and again said they'd send information. Well nothing has ever showed up. Today I was with him when he called yet again and they said they will send him info.Did any one have problems of this nature that have inquired about it? I just am hoping it's not a scam. By now he should of been receiving the information in the mail.Exactly what is the Ticket To Work Program? Could any one tell me a little more about it? Is it easy to find work? What kind of work is it? Do you have to have a specific idea of what you want to do? He's just getting frustrated and I hope it's no scam. Also if something happens where you stop working after being on this program will his benefits be protected and restored?Any info would be great. Thanks.

Hey Shell! I'm on SSD, but I don't know anything about the TTW program, sorry! I know there has been another post about it in the last few months though, but I can't remember the name. Good luck with the search!

Shell Its been a few years since I've worked with SS programs and each state is different but try to get ahold of the red book on work incentives published by the SSA. Call 1-866-968-7842 or try
www.socialsecurity.gov/work/Ticket/ticket info.html or www,yourtickettowork.com Hope this info is beneficial. Good Luck Lynn
