Yes, we in Florida can brag on our citrus...but you have to have cold weather to have good apples! Mountain apples seem to be best. In North Carolina I had chocolate covered apples...both dark and white chocolate! Yum stuff.....

Some of the best apple-picking takes place here in the North Georgia mountains. It is a grand slam: First, the drive up and through the mountains in the fall is unparalleled; Second, the apples are first-rate with many varieties; Third, you get to meet many-many other apple lovers from all over the southeast. My favorites? Cameo, Pink Lady, Granny Smith, Fuji. How do I like them? Prefer to slice'em and eat them straight up. However, being a die-hard apple lover, I haven't eaten a dish, pastry, drink, or anything else that has apples in it that I haven't loved.
