Hi Y'all
I know this is way off subject but has anyone with a disability experienced the Burning Man Festival held at Black Rock Desert the last week of August each year?
From the site it looks like a out of bound collection of art and people and might be fun to attend. The thing is it is in a desert, you have to be totally self sufficient...leaving nothing behind you and the site is a dry river bed of sand. Guess I could visit the site and ask if it was dis friendly but would also like personal experiences from someone who has attended.
thanks for any replies
Blessings

I did not attend this year but have in the past. It is fun as for ADA well it is pretty accessable considering it is on a flat surface where the days are really really hot and the nights cold as far as enviroments go it is a harsh one. Me I usually RV'd it with other friends and did stuff as I was able. Pretty much over the years though the meaning and purpose has been lost and it is party time. You go your on your own really but are their gimps about yep.

Not since I've been in a chair. The whole experience was a hoot and one big party! Looking back on it, I think it would be tough in a chair. The environment is nasty if the wind is blowing-which is always. Hot during the days and cold at nights.
Stay strong

Mornin' y'all
thanks for the replyes. I am intriged by the artwork that the site has shown in past years and would really like to see it for real. My favorite was the two semitrucks that were taken apart and put back together to make a three story (think it ws that high) jungle gym for adults. having to deal with weeled walkers, canes and the habit of my knees giving way and having to crawl places if not careful has given travel a new concern.
is too late this year but may put it on my "bucket" list .........if there have been other crips there...there is hope i can work my way out there.....think my experience of making garb for the Society of Creative Anancronism...midevil recreation group, will help. Make my own set of clothes uses pictuers of desert dwellers dependence on cotton and loose flowing clothing. Get a tear drop RV that is small enough for me to handle and attach what need.
Yes Tridog...Holiday Express does count......
