This thread is not an appropriate place to debate your standards, Mr. Hegland, for what you deem as worthy. Take a look at the title and you'll see that just about anywhere else would be a more fitting place to respectfully ask questions or just do the research yourself before you make assumptions. Any contributor, including myself, would be happy to share their experiences, curriculum vitae, educational background, etc. if approached in a respectful way. Starting with the attitude that you  haven't even heard of this person/that section and why would you care because you could go elsewhere doesn't get you far....It also lessens the likelihood that you'll receive a "nice" response.

ParaIvan...this thread isn't the place and it's no one's duty to "present evidence" or defend themselves in response to Mr. Hegland. 

 I agree with you, Kara. But just because I have eaten and don't have strength to be a dumbass at the moment - lol.

 

p.s. I love ya all, and I really think it's a  shame that anyone has been banned (hope the grammar is right here -lol ?). If you ask me, that just showes how much the stuff is interested to actually spend time and make an informed decision on this matter. Ahh well... life goes on and I'll be hungry later again...

First, Kara, I didn't know we were debating my standards; that was not my intent.  I was simply stating my opinion based on my personal and professional experiences, which you not only seemed to disagree with, but implied were superficial, baseless, and uninformed.  Therefore, in my defense against your antagonism, I presented my basis and requested that you likewise back-up your accusations with evidence.

Second, I do believe these forums are an appropriate place to discuss opinions of community members.  If you disagree, where do you feel is the more appropriate place?  Is there a specific forum labeled "community opinion discussions"?  If so, I was unable to locate it.

Third, I find it ironic that you use the term "respectfully" since you seem to have an such a passionate inclination to judge me, label me, disparage my character, discount my opinions, discourage my sharing of my opinions and experiences, plus disempower my expression of individuality.

Fourth, I did look around the site and attempt to research.  However, if the individual contributors/experts are not clearly identified, how can one be expected to approach them to ask about their credentials?

Fifth, now that you mention it, are you a contributor, moderator, representative, and/or shareholder?  What is your personal, professional, and financial interest in Disaboom?  What is motivating your attack on me and my opinions and experiences?  What authority and expertise do you have to judge what content is appropriate, in which locations, and the manner with which the content is presented?  If you are a duly authorized moderator and site administrator, I can accept, respect, and abide by that.

Sixth, again, I find it ironic that you mention "this thread isn't the place and it's no one's duty to 'present evidence' or defend themselves", but that is exactly what you are demanding by attacking my character, opinions, and experiences, are you not?

It's a shot in the dark but maybe starting a thread in the "Give us your feeback" part of the forums would be more appropriate for your burning suggestions/criticism/questions than in a thread titled "Rainey Banned?"

We all know this isn't about feedback or even constructive critisism.  If you don't feed the stray critters they eventually go away.
