Let’s start off by also pointing out that Sarah Palin wants to do away with sex education and family planning information for teens how can her daughter consider any consequence what by all intents and appearance trusted incorrect information from her boyfriend and peers? Clearly the abstainers approach did not work. You have to also recall these same policies also forbid the use of condoms so yes again a rather failed approach. Not only can unplanned births happen but an increased change of sexually transmitted diseases, from Herpes to HIV. Roe vs Wade did not make killing babies legal, what it did do was say a woman has the right to privacy and can in fact enjoy the same rights as a male when it came to reproductive rights. This jump to killing babies has been approached by those opposed to women’s rights nothing more or less.Again there is no information about unwanted pregnancies and it pure and utter speculation as to how many women actually do abort. If in your case that is what grandparents wanted for your mother at least they stated their position on the personal choices out there. As a man that was married 25 years with 3 kids I will say there were healthcare issues with her that did come up and we did make the best possible choice based upon the highest quality of medical advise. This was a private matter as was my father’s death. Should I have or my spouse at the time been required to answer to the State or Church the answer was a resounding NO. We all seen what happened with Terri Shavio do we need this for every women’s healthcare choices?Since your mother was 18 at the time you were conceived they offered up as much information and options as any good parent could. But you appear to have over looked the fact that they must have respected your mother’s choice. I also take exception as a father that it was a trick from what you are saying a mother and father were trying to inform their daughter of her choices. So really it is a wash have those Grandparents shunned you or has your mom not taken you around to them? I do not think anyone in your family loves you any less over your mothers free choiceLast thing is Sarah Palin wants all women to be forced to make her choices her way just because it may work with her family it does not mean it can or will work for every family. How can you offer up choices then you take away all of the options? Then again it is a male thing like Arabia women are forbidden to drive and men control everything does America really need to return to the days where the Husbands control their bodies?Government and The Church have not right to control reproductive or healthcare choices. HIPPA lwas assure privacy so the rest is at best a guess or a personal by those opposed.

It is each families decision as to how and what they want their children taught about sex not the school or the governments. Schools should stick to teaching the 3 Rs. There are lots of opinions as to what is acceptable and what is not based on many factors determined by race, religion, or geographic region.

I would agree with this to a small extent schools are to provide an education that will result in children learning as much correct known knowledge there is based upon free choice. Removing a book or science material from a school is assuring your rights are more then mine. Removing or taking nito everyones family choices the best option will be the inclusion of knowledge not the denail that the knowedge is there.

Not if the lack of education you're providing your children is harming society.

And whom are you that says you are Superior enough to say who does and does not have that choice. This country is not based on socialism. It is based on personal freedoms. If you want socialism go somewhere else. Our forefathers came here to escape government oppression.

Socialism? What does that have to do with it? Oh, I know! it's the catchphrase that is always used when you don't have a valid point.
It's called POVERTY. And it's called TEEN PREGNANCY. When your squeamishness at teachings kids how to protect themselves is a direct cause of the rise in teen pregnancy and the rise of further poverty then you are harming society. It's really not that complicated.

There we go again with that I'm smarter than you attitude. Just because someone is poor does not mean you get to make their decisions for them. You just like sticking you elitist nose where it does not belong. Stop government funding for those having babies and not being able to afford it and the problem will reverse itself.I do believe they are teaching sex education in schools now and it has not solved the problem.
