Justin DeCastro:The GOP candidate for vice president, Gov. Sarah Palin, may be facing yet another ethics investigation back in her home state of Alaska. An ethics complaint obtained by NBC News was filed Wednesday by the police officers union in Alaska, requesting a probe into possible wrongdoing by the governor or her office. It was brought on behalf of state trooper Mike Wooten, an ex-brother-in-law of Palin who is at the center of the "Troopergate" scandal. The complaint alleges that the governor or her staff may have have improperly disclosed information from Wooten's personnel records. The complaint alleges "criminal penalties may apply." John Cyr, director of the union that filed the complaint, told NBC News, "It seems obvious to us somebody has improperly accessed [Wooten's] personnel file." The McCain/Palin campaign Thursday launched a spirited defense when contacted by NBC News. They say the personnel files were not protected; a campaign source says Wooten himself had previously signed a waiver allowing a divorce lawyer to obtain his personnel records. The campaign then sent a copy of that waiver to NBC News, which reads "I hereby waive any privilege I may have to said information to said attorneys."
She’s the Governor. She has access to all the state employee’s files. She’s their boss.
It’s funny how they fail to mention the alleged criminal actions of the officer in question. Tasering his step son and treatening to kill his father in law. This Trooper was or is out of control. Having knowledge of it and being Governor, it is her responsibility to get him removed from the force before he hurts or kills someone.
Can you imagine the out cry there would be if she didn’t do anything and this wild card trooper killed his stepson or father in law?
“Oh My God! She knew about this guy and didn’t do anything!”

Sarah Palin fired Alaska’s Public Safety Officer whom no doubt was working within the state guidelines and personnel rules and Union in this case Police Union to resolve any officers alleged miss conduct. The question is why did a Governor of the state of Alaska get involved in personnel issues of the state police? I cannot think of one issues where the mayor let alone the governor in my state has taken it upon their self to get into management at such a operational level that is unless they are micro managers. So can the USA departments be micro managed? Why should we then ignore then the ethic investigation?

I think it is going to be quite interesting to see what comes out of this investigation. I think Palin has a certain track record when it comes to ridding herself of anyone who doesn't fit into her template. Do I think she is the only politician guilty of this? No. Do I feel it has a bearing on her ability to be VP and possibly President? Yes.
My own opinion of course.

Again this is not about the trooper as a matter of fact he is back on the job thanks to his Union. As I said is her job to micro managing the State Police here we elect those officials Alaska they as in Sarah appointed them.Suggesting then the citizens and law makers of Alaska have no right to investigate a conflict of interest in this case or consider it perhaps an ethics violation and abuse of power? I thought she worked for the people and if she has done nothing wrong then the facts will come out. Why base your approval for no investigation based upon the actions of the trooper. This is unusual because the be made must have had a internal investigation by the Alaska State Police and he was reinstated to his job. This being the case a stance of no wrong doing hardly hold any valid claim to even being related to the subject.
