I don't know if this tip will help everyone, but I thought I would share it anyway. I have severe migraines and am on three different medications for the pain. Sometimes they don't even work because the pain gets to bad. So, recently, I tried a herbal remedy and was pleasantly surprised that it got rid of even the worse migraine that medications don't touch.
Get a washcloth wet and put a few drops of peppermint oil (found at most health/natural stores) on it. Put it on your forehead for about 15 minutes and wa-la bye bye headache. DO NOT put the peppermint oil on without diluting it because it will burn your skin, always put it on something else like a wet cloth. You can also put it in a humitafier (spelling?) and breath in the vapors for 10 minutes or so. I've also found that putting a few drops in my bath water eases muscle pain.
As I said, I don't know if this will work for everyone. I do hope that it works for someone though because it has help me SO MUCH! My theory is - I'll try anything once. I guess you get that way if the pain is bad enough and theres no relief.

good suggestion! I get headaches every once in awhile and sometimes nothing works so I'm going to give this a whirl. Other things that do work on occasion for me are:
laying in a dark room
taking a luke warm bath
excedrin tension headache
convincing my bf to rub my head
I find sometimes when I had my bad headaches.. putting a ice pack on my head tends to bring down the intensity.. might help for others
Hi,I am new to the site and happened to see your post about working part time. I am in need of something to bring in money. Am anxious to hear what you have to say Thanks
Yes! This works for me, also. I keep a cloth with a bit of peppermint oil on it in my bag when my headaches are bad, so I've got it with me when I'm out and about. It's soothing for sinus pain, o. You can also put a few drops onto the floor of the shower once you are in. And if you get some plain massage oil or body oil, you can add the peppermint oil to it and then rub it into feet, elbows, or a little bit into your neck to add the benefits of the massage to your moments of "taking care of yourself." !
I've also used the peppermint or rosemary oil in the shower to help wake up in the morning, and a drop of marjoram oil on the collar of my nightshirt to help calm and bring on sleep. While the effects aren't guaranteed, (everyone's mileage will vary) when they work, they are a wonderful addition to the list of things to try
I'll preface this by saying that the residue will leave your head and hair color with a blue tint and that this "therapy" works best with short hair.
I use Mineral Ice. Rub it in on the head where the pain is; the entire scalp if necessary. Nice cool burning sensation that just like on muscle aches, seems to "cure" headaches and migraines quickly. I have used this Mineral Ice therapy for many, many years. More recently, I have seen a patch that you apply to your forehead but nothing beats rubbing Mineral Ice in where it hurts most. Besides, if it hurts that bad, I hope you will be staying home, in a dark room, laying down. And no; your head will not glow! LOL
