    • You can always jump on one of those mules or horses too if you want to get out there without thrashing yourself.  If you dont have any skin issues, riding bare back is the best.  You can feel the horse's gate better and move with them.  I've ridden horse's through the back country in the Eastern Sierras and used a mule to carry my stuff.  Good times for sure.  The One-Off bike is unparalelled though.  You can seriously do anything with it.  I got a bike park pass for Mammoth this year and cant wait to bomb downhill, but will be in the back country with it too.  Dont forget taking the dog out for walks on the beach with it as well.  I had to get off the island though and am back in San Diego camping on the beach.  I'll be going up to Mammoth like every couple weeks to ski through the end of the season and ride all summer.  Let me know if you want to try my bike.

    • what kind of trouble are you having with the gears?  did you mike augsperger?  he's very accessible to answer any and all your questions.  the only trouble i've had is with the chest piece coming loose at the stem, but mike is engineering an option to have it fixed.  learning not to rely on it as much by steering with one hand while while cranking with the other has helped as well.

    • What a day!  It's 80 degrees here in Boston!   I just got back from a lunch time 10 mile ride. Went from my office. followed along the harbor waterfront.  Passed my favorite brewery where I have friends that work.  They were outside and told me that they stopping operations for the day and having a few pints..  It was so tempting to join them.   But I promised my boss I'd be back by 1pm.  So I had to get going. I then peddled over to the beach ahd enjoyed a couple of hot dogs for lunch...  Oh man, hot dogs, sunshine and the women out there (don't tell my wife)! God, life can't get any better...could it?  After I peddled back. past my friends on their second pints and to the office.

I love having a gig that lets me get out to play for a while during the day.

    • I AM HEARIN' YA LOUD AND CLEAR TRIDOG.... winter is past and it is time to get back to livin' outside again. I have been on two 40+ milers since last Friday. The weather is perfect except for a fairly stiff head wind on Tuesday. I ride on the Pacific Coast Highway just north of Malibu and the weather has been in the low-mid seventies with nothin' but blue skies and lots of sunshine. LIFE IS GOOD!!!

    • CRUD! It is raining and cold in So. Oregon, Snowing even. They are going to have to shorten the course on the Spring Thaw Mountain bike race. Too much snow on the mountain. We had a short reprieve and I got out on Sunday for a couple of hours. I am jealous of all the nice weather elsewhere.

See you in the sun soon enough.

      Shine On!

    • Oh man.... I am feelin' for ya' longred!!! Weather in So Cal has been really good lately. I rode 40+ miles last friday....then did 45 miles on Saturday even though I fought a fierce santa ana head wind all the way back from the ocean. I got another 45 miles yesterday and the weather was perfect. Mid sixties and blue sunny skies. Keep the faith! Your day will come soon.

    • Just finished 41 miles down the coast and back. The weather was perfect and minimal wind (first time in weeks). Got my best time ever...3 hours and 6 minutes (13.1 avg. MPH). I am ready to go out and do it all over again!!
