  •      Dear Potential Contributor The Colorado Parkinson Foundation, Inc. (a 501 (c) 3) will be sponsoring the first Race for Parkinson’s in April this year. We hope that this event will become an annual interaction with the Colorado Springs community. We have received donations in the past from people and Corporations from all over during our fundraising events.This year, we are asking for your donations and or sponsorship to help launch the race as a successful Runner’s Roost sanctioned effort. Your contributions are needed as seed money to assist in covering the overhead for the race and into Parkinson’s research. We have no corporate sponsors for this event at this time, although Southwest Airlines has in the past contributed us tickets to auction and may do so again. The Colorado Parkinson Foundation, Inc is this state’s chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation and is an all volunteer organization dedicated to providing the financial needs of the Jeanne Taylor Parkinson’s Support Group and rising funds to promote research for neurological disorders.  We fund transportation assistance for members that are unable to drive, respite care funds to caregivers that need to have another caregiver fill in while they attend our programs, music and dance therapy classes each week, an annual educational symposium, several monthly group held meetings, and other assistance needs for over 200 families in our community. The mission and purpose of the Colorado Parkinson Foundation, Inc is to provide mutual caring and support to Parkinson’s disease Patients and their care givers, and family members, improving the patient’s quality of life through cross feed of information about symptoms, medications, research, and treatments of the disease.  We cannot do this without your support and contributions.   Our point of contact is Maj.
