I thought you might be interested to know that I just released my film, "What's Bugging Seth," on DVD. I am deaf myself and I made a film about a young deaf man who struggles to find love and success in the mainstream world. It won several awards.
You can check out the Open Captioned Trailer at www.WhatsBuggingSeth.com
Here's a blurb: This film made by Eli Steele, who is deaf, will undoubtedly capture your heart with its unique love story. Seth Singer, a driven young orally deaf man, believes in one thing: that he is no different from anyone else. Determined to prove his point, he throws his life savings into a pesticide business despite the presence of a well-established competitor that will do anything to see him fail. Along the way, Seth meets Alma, a double amputee, and they find romance as they bond over their disabilities. However, will their connection be strong enough to withstand the return of Nora , Seth’s high school love, who comes home after a disappointing modeling career? Written and directed by Eli Steele, this charming and comic offers a rare glimpse into what it is like to live as an orally deaf adult in today's world . CONGRATULATIONS, Eli!!! I am sooo excited for you! It sounds like a great film and must be as it has won awards! Is it captioned? How sweet! I'll try and watch it ASAP!!!
Thank you!
Yes, it is Closed Captioned/Subtitled. I even Closed Captioned the interviews with myself and Ross Thomas who plays Seth.
I know how important Closed Captions are and I made sure there was money in the budget for that.
I fell in love with movies as a young kid but in the era of VHS there were very few films that were CC in video rental stores. So in order to watch all the classics I had to buy the newer versions of the films that were CC. Today it is so much easier!
