65 is just not that old these days, and you should be able to enjoy many more years of healthy, active life.
I wish you the very best; keep in touch.

sorry, to interupt, but I had a massive stroke in 07 and had no risk factors. My response is keep your heart right with GOD,and leave it in his hands.

Hi: I'm mike. II'm 59 now and recovering from a massive stroke. I had not one risk factor, but like you I'd like to see the next one coming.

Hi Grandma10! Welcome to Disaboom...I'm glad to see you've already received some support...I've never had a stroke but I can imagine that it would be extremely difficult to have so many in such a short period of time. I hope you are on the mend and if it helps to come in here and relax, vent, or just meet some new friends-please come back and join us! If you need any help or have questions, just let me know.

Lonewolf and Grandma10 welcome. You don't have to be alone here. Lots of people are willing to give their experiences and advice. Lonewolf congrats on getting into shape and losing all that weight. That's fantastic. I would think being in shape now would help greatly against another one. However, I've never had a stroke, and I don't know any one whose ever had one. Being in shape and healthy over all helps a lot even when it comes to a general cold etc. Instead of just sitting at home you decided to give it your all and get into shape. I'm sure you feel better all around too. Best of luck to you and I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Grandma10 hang in there! Best of Luck.
