    • Hi Josh and welcome to Disaboom!

I can relate to some of the symptoms that you mention. I find that many neurological disorders share many of the same traits. The hard part for some folks is to obtain a firm diagnosis so that they have a name for their disability.

Meanwhile, as you embark on your journey, you will have a lot of friends "pulling" for you. Don't ever feel alone because you now have a very large and caring family of friends here at Disaboom. Just give us a shout any time.  Smile  My best to you!

      Dave

    • Hey Josh - how are you? Hope you're well. I know this is an older thread, but I just saw it tonight.

Have you listened to books on CD, or on DVD? I like to read, but sometimes it's nice to just kick back, close my eyes and listen to someone read the book out loud instead. Since reading is difficult for you, if you haven't checked out recorded books yet you might enjoy them. A lot of book stores and places like Hastings, Wal-Mart and maybe even Target sell them. You can also order them online if you'd rather shop that way.

Your pictures you've posted on your profile are cool. Hope you're enjoying the forums!

Oh, and don't feel so bad about having to read a paragraph more than a couple of times. I read quite a bit, but it can take me a while to read a book, because I, too, have to re-read many paragraphs in order to remember what I've read. So you're not the only one who has to do that.
