Recently , I was contacted by Disabnoom, in regards of securing advertising for their company.
They told me I would be an Independent Contracter, (witch was fine)
But then they were talking about W9 form signed, a red flag went up.
Many of us just have our disability checks just keeping heads above water.
To much to risk, without guaratee's.
Just thought your readers should know.
PS
I am looking for work, but my disability hasn't affected my brain.

I'm pretty sure that in the US you'll have to fill out a W9 form for almost any job that doesn't pay straight cash. That's a pretty standard requirement.

It is pretty standard at the end of the year they will give you a 1099 based on being independant contractor. Otherwise, if they dont pay taxes on their end and report your income from them they can get into trouble irs wise.

I think more businesses are thinking about flex time now not because of disabledemployees but the cost of having dependable employees get to work with $4.00 plus a gallon for gas. I interviewed for my job just out of one surgery andthey knew full well of my being 1/2 deaf nd mobility problems and as I celebrate my 1st year for them they were sort of put off at first about both flex time and remote access. Noe they are all for both why because they have projects and a business to conduct I'm an OK geek and have 1/2 the office now fully able to do what I've done for years access netorks servers and even their own desktops.
Personally I do not like to work from home unless I must because I enjoy getting out of the house and being in a working group of people on a common goal. But as things get tighter business is learing real fast so depending upon what you do for a living point out the advantages when asked about such things.
