Are you wondering how to display your picture next to your name around the site? I'll walk you through the process here and soon the default grey image currently representing you will be replaced by the image of your choice.

First things first: your profile picture is called an Avatar.
The word Avatar is not a new computer age word like you may think, it has actually been around for thousands of years and was originally coined to describe an incarnation of a deity (it comes from Sanskrit and if you're familiar with Hinduism you've probably heard of the word before). That original meaning has shifted a bit and been co-opted by websites around the world. Now it is usually taken to mean the personification or embodiment of a concept. So, think of it this way: you are the concept or person being personified, in part, through your Avatar (profile picture) on disaboom. Got it? Don't care about the etymology? Ok, just remember that your profile image is called an Avatar.
Now that you know what the Profile Picture is called on the site (it's an Avatar, remember?) you can go about finding your Avatar. When selecting your Avatar try to select a square image that is larger than 90x90 pixels (100x100 is the sweet spot).
Once you've picked your Avatar log in to Disaboom.com and click 'My Disaboom' (a link at the upper right hand part of the screen right next to where is says 'Welcome Username'). From there select ‘Manage My Photos' on the left navigation bar. Choose the ‘ My Avatar' option, click ‘Yes' next to ‘Enable Avatar' then ‘Browse' to find your Avatar on your computer. Once you've selected it and clicked ‘ok' you will hit the ‘Update' button that is right next to the ‘Browse' button. To complete the process hit ‘Save.'
Your Avatar should be uploaded! It may not show up for 5 minutes or so, but it should be there.
There you go; you've dusted up on your philology and have gotten yourself a cool new Avatar all at the same time.
