On January 29th, the House Education and Labor Committee held the hearing on the ADA Restoration Act. Unfortunately, I was home sick with the flu so was unable to attend in person. However, I did put together podcast (and blog post) that contains clips of the oral testimony from witnesses “in their own words” courtesy of the Ed and Labor Committee’s webcast records.

Among the witnesses at the hearing was Carey McClure, an electrician with 20 years experience who was denied a job with General Motors because of his disability and then was denied protection of the ADA by the courts because he wasn’t disabled.
Mr. McClure’s testimony is available in a video summary on YouTube, provided by the Democrats of the Education and Labor Committee and provides a powerful statement about the need for ADA restoration. The link provided below is to the video on my personal blog site as the YouTube video is not captioned and a transcript is available in the comments.
