FAQs: Private Message System
Disaboom.com offers a private message system which allows members to contact each other without disclosing their personal offsite contact information. The private message system works much like an e-mail system and is only accessible to registered members. To ensure maximum protection of privacy, we recommend that you do not exchange personal information with another member until you have developed a trusting relationship.
SENDING A PRIVATE MESSAGE:
To send a private message to another member, click on the person's name (not their picture). You will then be routed to the profile page for that member. Click on the link that says "Send xxx a Private Message." Note: "xxx" will be the member username.
READING AND REPLYING TO A PRIVATE MESSAGE:
To read and reply to private messages, click on the link that says "Inbox" in the upper right-hand corner. If you have messages, the link will say "# New Messages." The private message system looks and feels like the discussion forum pages because it's essentially a private forum assigned to you.
To open and read a private message, click on the topic name which is in bold and underlined.
To reply to a private message, click on the "Reply" button. Compose your message and then click on the "Post" button to save and send.
