My partner and I are going to Taiwan for a family wedding. I have cerebal palsy and use crutches. Everything that I have read about China and travel in China with a disability has been discouraging and even frightening. I am less worried about structural access (I am planning on everything being absolutely inaccessible) and more worried about public attitudes (being denied use of public transportation etc.). Does anyone have any experience traveling in China or Taiwan with a disability? ANY FEEDBACK IS URGENTLY WELCOME!
Thanks!

I hope you have a great time. I've done a lot of traveling over the years and from what I've seen most places like hotels, shops, even taxi services, have enough understanding of English to get by and communicate. I have never been where you are going myself. Some times just say loudly "Speak English" and someone will speak up. Just ask for what you want. They are desperate for tips in some countries so they will help you. You also may want to look up the American Consulate and get any good tips from them. There is a Department of State Office of Overseas Services. From the united states the toll free number is 1-888-407-4747. I looked it up. I'm sure any and all questions you have they'll be more then glad to answer.
