    • Am new to this sight but have found it very informative so am hoping that someone out there can help me. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia only 2 weeks ago after suffering for 8 years. I have had to take the odd day or week off work over the last 12 months due to different things that i have now found out relate to this illness and have now found myself with a disciplinary for my absenses from work. does anyone know if fibromyalgia comes under D.D.A.Is there a list or something that tells you what comes under D.D.A.?as my employers hanent got a clue. x

    • Forgive me for asking:  what is DDA?  (Do you mean ADA; Americans with Disabilities Act?)

    • Yes it does come under DDA, and you may be able to claim DLA because of it, regardless of any earnings - I am currently claiming, and have my claim tribunal next month! It is one of those things where they have to take into account the effect on the person, so its not automatic, but you can self decalre yourself disabled if you like. I suggest you phone the pain hotlline or similar and ask for some advice.

    • OH!  I recognize DLA as being a UK thing, but I was unfamiliar with DDA.  Thanks for educating me.
