I was approached by a female friend with an interesting request, which got me thinking. How many of you men here with disabilities, especially SCI, have fathered children after the fact? How long did it take to be successful after you started trying? What sorts of obstacles did you encounter? It's something I never thought about until now, and I'm curious.
Thanks,
Tim
I have had 5 strokes and I have no problem in that dept.
How many children have you had since your strokes? Any complications at all?
None my strokes were 5 years ago my youngest child is 19
I've been researching this topic, and here are a couple of links that might be helpful:

I'm afraid to ask what the request is *LOL* but if it's what I'm thinking, then you may want to talk to a lawyer before agreeing to her "request" or you might find yourself forced to pay child support you weren't planning on paying. Unless you were planning on paying, then in that case, ignore what I said. *LOL*
Just my .02.
Agreed, consulting an attourney is a good idea. As far as what you are thinking, I don't think it's going to be all that exciting and the odds are against me participating. I just got me thinking though. What affect an sci or other disability has on a man's ability to have children. I don't have any desire to get remarried or start a family, but u never know....
