    • Hello Everyone, I am Gerri from Louisiana. I have suffered five thalmic strokes and one stroke of the eye that has left me blind in one eye. My comments or discussion is for those of you that has suffered specifically thalmic strokes. I would like to know how many of you have had or still has vertigo prior to your strokes. I suffered with severe vertigo for almost a year before my first stroke. I believe the vertigo and strokes are some how connected. I am researching this idea and would appreciate all the thalmic stroke survivors input. I was 45 years old when the first sroke occured and am now 50. I have fought and clawed my way back from paralysis. I had to learn to re-eat, walk, talk and every other thing most people take for granted.I work with stroke survivors and their families now.Strokes are hard to come back from and no one can do it alone. I am a firm believer God has kept me here for a reason and I seek the reason. God Bless you all.

    • I was always afraid of high places so I tried never to put myself in those positions. However I live on the second floor. The day I had my stroke I noticed the flight down the stairs was kind of daunting even scary. It was like the stairs got longer - like they do in the movies. The stairs no longer scare me. I too agree that people take say even walking for granted. I still stuggle with my right side and steps. I think we live to share and learn from others experiences in life too. Life is short - so learn and experience all that we can. So many don't know what we've gone through.
