There are a lot of big movies coming out (or that have already come out) this summer - Iron Man, Hulk, Indiana Jones, The Dark Knight, Get Smart, you name it! Are there any movies that you're especially looking forward to seeing this summer? I'm looking forward to The Dark Knight myself, though it will be weird to see Heath Ledger's final performance. :(
Hey E! Great question. I also want to see Dark Night and feel kind of weird about seeing Heath Ledger. I wonder if this film had anything to do with causing his death? How can you "accidentally" take so many pills? I don't know. I also want to see Indiana Jones, being that I'm an old Indy fan.

Welcome Jess, it's great to have you here on the site! I didn't know they were making that into a movie. You're right, it can be hard seeing one of your favorite books made into a movie, especially when you really hope it lives up to your expectations / matches what you've created in your mind about how the movie should look! Hope you're enjoying the site so far.
I've seen Iron Man - loved it! I had a few pet peeves about somethings in the movie that had nothing to do with the great story line or the action. It is soooo good to see Robert Downey Jr. up on the screen again. Such a talent who wastes it on drugs and alcohol. He is really the highlight of this movie.
I've seen the new Indy movie - so-so. It was good to see Indy and Marion back on the screen too. I even liked Mutt which I didn't think I would (thought maybe he'd be an Indy clone or something - happily he's not). Didn't care much for the storyline, and sometimes it felt like they were trying to hard to be a good Indiana Jones movie. Kinda like we stumbled into a big private joke. Indiana Jones was never funny because he was trying to be. He was funny because of the way he handled riduculous situations.
I'm very excited to see the new Dark Knight movie although, I, too, am a little nervous to see where Heath Ledger took the Joker. I've heard it is very good but very disturbing. I've always been a big fan of Christian Bale, so him donning the Batsuit again is always fun eye-candy.
I want to see The Happening, M. Night Shamalyan's new movie, but I don't do horror movies very well. And he's assured his audience - this is a horror movie in the traditional sense of the word (ie not hack and slash perse). I don't really get any enjoyment out of a movie I had to view through my fingers.
I'm a bit skeptical of Journey to the Center of the Earth. Brendan Fraser and I broke up a long time ago when he kept making crap movies (the first Mummy movie excepted). He does make a good swashbuckler so we'll see if this movies fall in line with the original Mummy movie or more with Dudley Do-right.
My daughter is already talking about Wall-E. In fact, we just got a kitten who we named Lily. But partly cause she's a weirdo and partly because of her baby lisp, she calls the cat Wall-E. Too funny. So off on June 26th we'll be to see the new Pixar film. I can't say I'm not looking forward to it myself. I love those movies.
I've got a few I want have and want to see. I saw Indy already. Not the best of the four, but enjoyable all the same. But I did expect to see Scully & Mulder appear in the climax LIttle over the top, if you ask me. Also, the truck chase in the warehouse? How big is this warehouse?
I haven't see it yet, but I'm looking for a chance to go see Speed Racer. Seems pretty cornball, but as a kid I was a big Speed Racer fan. I'm also looking forward to see Get Smart. Steve Corell is the perfect person to bring back Don Adams' Maxwell Smart. I just hope he keeps his Michael Scott character out if it.
Black Knight and The Hulk. No real desire to rush out and see these. Come on Hollywood. How many Batman/Hulk movies do we need? It's getting old now. Give it a rest and come up with something new. Ironman/Hellboy, Nah, I was never a comic book person. Ok, I did read Sgt. Rock a lot.
I'm a little nervous about them destroying the story of Journey to the Cnter of the Earth. It's a great book. But what of Jules Verne's work isn't great work? They did a movie of it in 1959. James Mason and Pat Boone. I think it's a classic. It's in my collection. I just hope they don't over tech the movie and make it all about the special effects.
I've seen Ironman and loved it, saw Indy and enjoyed it and want to see Get Smart (though not convinced it will be good).
theres one with kate hudson coming out too can't remember the name. love her and goldie.
I wish a good scuba diving movie would come out!
Tim: I've seen Ironman and loved it, saw Indy and enjoyed it and want to see Get Smart (though not convinced it will be good).
Meh, the "Rocky Mountian Newspaper" gave it a "C".
They gave the "Love Guru" a "D"...
So, if you have to choose between the two. Go for "Get Smart"
Of course, critics are not always accurate....
Debbie: theres one with kate hudson coming out too can't remember the name. love her and goldie.
Isn't Kate Hudson the daughter of Goldie Hawn?
Joel:Isn't Kate Hudson the daughter of Goldie Hawn?
Yes she is, and when you see them together, you definitely can tell they are mother/daughter.
My son saw "Get Smart" tonight and said it was really funny! I want to see "The Happening" too, but someone told me it was really dumb. I like the movies MNS has done so far, Signs, The Village, Lady in the Water. Should never really rely on what people say, even critics. What some people find funny or good, others don't.
I've seen some poor reviews of The Happening too, though I'm still curious...I'm glad to hear Get Smart was funny, I love Steve Carrell!
Did you mean "Fools Gold?" I've seen it and it's cute ;)
