    •  Because of arthritis my wife is unable to shut off the bath tap completely. The tap uses a standard knob --- a wheel-like knob with four spokes, each about 2 inches long.  Does anyone know a device that would allow her to exert greater leverage? Maybe a different handle with longer spokes? Thanks.

    • try looking at this web site http://www.rehabilitystores.com

they have a thing called a Tap Turner

Installs easily over round tap handles. Converts tap handles into a lever operation. Excellent for persons with limited hand dexterity. Slotted screwdriver required for installation. Handle has non- slip cover. (keywords): adaptive solutions, universal design, arthritis, Hemiplegia, Multiple Sclerosis, Quadriplegic, SCI, stroke, Upper Extremity Amputation.

      it's $10.99

but if you are handy you might be able to look at it & make one with parts at home as well.

       Hope this helps...
