    • Big Smilehi my name is corina and I just found out that I have fibromalgia and I am 40 yrs old

I was given Lyrica at 75 mgs and I have seen so much inprovement in just a few days.

I wanted to share my story with others that suffer to .

I understand this is NOT a magic pill but I tell you what I went from a 9 on the pain scale to a 2 in2days

I am starting to feel normal as can be but what is normal anyway?

I can at least function in life ,I thought there was no help.

I support research and I hope the can find a cure for those that have this problem

may God bless you and I hope you have some relief to!!!!!!!

    • Corina,

Welcome to Disaboom! It is also great to hear that Lyrica is "working" for you. Different folks have different degrees of response but it sounds like between Lyrica and your faith, you have found some relief.

      God bless you too!

      Dave

    • i was diagnosed with fibro 4 years ago.  2 years ago my granson was diagnosed with celiac disease and since we had similar symptoms:  IBS, enormous fatigue, body pain, sleep problems, low immune system, etc., i was tested and celiac was verified for me too.

after 15months on the gluten free diet, fibro symptoms have virtually disappeared.  NO IBS, sleep lovely, energy galore, very little body discomfort, have lost that anxiety about being able to meet daily work needs, don't panic on tuesday at the thought of trying to finish the work week, etc., don't catch every blessed cold going around the office, etc. wonderful !

this may not be the case for you, but celiac testing is a simple blood test with definitive yes or no outocme.  1 out of 131 people have it to some degree and, as I can attest, treatment is very effective, if a little time consuming.  (I was surprised tht it took close to a year, however, of being gluten free before i noticed significant change, but oh what a change)  it;s worth exploring....

    • Mary Lou , Could you tell me what celiac Disease. I have fibromyagia and had vulva cancer  My

fibro is a result from a work injury in 1992.  I had a rotor cuff tear and nerve damage because

the stupid dr in Iowa just gave me drugs and went thru lots of therapies but 4 years later after

putting more damage to my shoulders, right arm , and neck > I was rated 25% of the whole body

disabled. Then in 1999 I ended up with vulva cancer which my mom died   o f  1991. I havn't healed since

from radiation damage. Hope we can become friends

    • Mary Lou as it goes with Fibromyalgia different meds, treatments, supplements and diets work differently for all.  It is good to hear what the gluten free diet did for you.  That is amazing!  Now before the official diagnosis of FM for me I felt as if I had the flu everyday and night....I discovered I could not tolerate gluten and that when one is gluten intolerant the small intestine gets damaged and can no longer absorb nutrients.  I was on a strict gluten free diet for one year and it was wonderful for my digestive system but did nothing for the other symptoms of Fibro unfortunately.  I think it is a good idea for anyone having chronic nausea and/or IBS to ask to be tested for Celiac's disease though.  Glad to hear of someone feeling like they got their life back.Smile
