About Me

Slowly, but surely becoming disabled with MS. Also have Juvinile Type Diabetes. Worked as an artist since I was in 3rd grade in Hawaii, till I was 18 and moved to Alaska. Then I worked in the Resteraunt, bar business for 9 years, then the medical field for 13 years, till finally I quit to try and run a business in Real Estate since my illness was getting worse. Little did I know how hard RE was, working 16 hour days, 7 days a week, and how costly it was each year to keep your license, about 25k a year. When my illness got bad enough we were as prepared as we could be to survive on just Papa's salary. We sold the house we totally remodeled to pay all our dept off. We are now in a small ONE story home where I am trying to pull in extra income or other needs we have through inventive and resourceful ways. One is going back to my roots as an artist using several mediums. I am the type to always think of ways to do things I can no longer do in a different way. It might take me 2 to 3 times longer, but, hey...Ican do it! I have a wonderful and supportive husband of 20 years, 2 girls over age 20 and a son, who should be flying the nest to Arizona State this fall on a Track scholarship. To see Mason run is to watch a gracefull gazelle running through the wide open fields. Maybe I will be able to post his videos. We are lucky that he got the scholarship because we are not financially well off, but, we still need to come up with quite a bit. So, it is my mission, and I DO CHOOSE to accept it, is to try and contribute to his success as much as I can. I started a blog, about our adventure in getting him off to College and might start to sell some of my creations to earn him some pocket money and pay for the loans. I am not to confident that my I will get disability. Kinda wish I don't, then maybe I can say I am NOT disabled! LOL! But, got to have a back up plan, plus do something I love doing anyway, which is to create things like jewelry, knitting, painting, scrapebooking, woodworking or furniture resorations, batiking, candle making, etc. I love to garden. But, don't have the strength anymore, but, still try on my good days. Not sure what will come of me being here. This is the first site I have found for folks like me. We will just have to wait and see.
