Do you remember your school teacher telling you not to pull a chair out from under someone, they could get hurt? I found out first hand that this is true but in a different situation. I was working a job that required I travel out of town and spend the night. One night I was in a regular hotel room, the next I was in a suite because there was no regular room available. That could have been pleasant but when I awoke for a pee the toilet wasn't where I expected it and I hit the floor. It's funny to think about it now but believe me the pain isn't. I went downstairs to tell the front desk clerk that I had fallen and I'd appreciate them writing up an accident report. I went to work as scheduled, completed the assignment, and headed to home. After getting my kids from school we went to a store in which the fiercest stabbing lightning of pain went into my back and up and down my spine. I knew something was terribly wrong because I nearly hit the floor from the pain. I filed an accident report with my boss and that was all there was to it. I had to stop working the next year because of the severity of the pain. I've fallen 5 more times since then, broke my ankle, and injured my hip. Incidentally, I'm a retired disabled counselor for victims of domestic violence so if anyone needs some resources I'll do what I can to get it to you or find it online. Thank you for being here.
