62 years old, married 37 years, Vietnam Vet, University of Washington grad, 40 year career in the airlines, 2 grown children, 5 grandchildren. Lost my last two jobs due to functional disability. I have posterior tibial syndrome in both legs, right knee demolished 40 years ago and has been worked on twice. Right leg is withered compared to my left one. I have lateral stenosis in L3, L4 & L5 aggravatged by an injury at my former job. Am about to apply for my first disabled parking permit because I simply cannot get around too well anymore. Have Always been physical but now it's "damage control." I do what I can but mobility is slipping away. Hey, I get something good out of everyday and practice "random acts of kindness" to anyone who will accept them. All of you who use wheelchairs and assistive devices, my job is to teach our airline employees how to do a better job of helping you get from here to there with a minimum of fuss and damage. You can help me by simply dropping me a line and telling me about your experiences, be they good or bad.
