I am 60 years old and find that aging with cerebral palsy is quite difficut at times. I was told at age 9 that I had a "mild" case of cp. I tried to ignore it as long as possible and became a beautician for a few years. I then trained for an administration assistant job and became a medical transcriptionist to stay off my feet. My stiffness increased dramatically around age 50, and I had to begin using a cane (several falls convinced me I was delaying the inevitable). Some of the ongoing problems I have are chronic back pain, joint stiffness, slight drooping on right side of face, etc. I am currently on ss disability and have had some success with arthritis water exercises easing my stiffness.
