About Me

How's it goin'? My name's Jesse & I'm a 25 year old girl from South Jersey. A month after my 21st birthday I went into septic shock..not to be confused with toxic shock..from a 24hr stomach virus which resulted in the amputation of both my legs below the knee & the loss of 85% of my hands. I realized they do not give you too much room for the "Interests" part of this profile..so I shall put them here. I loovvee to shop..really. Love it. I also am pretty much obsessed with the Philadelphia Flyers. I love going to & watching all sporting events..boxing, football, baseball..hockey of course, etc. I went skydiving for the first time back in July of '07 and have every intention of making it an annual thing. I participated in the Breast Cancer 3Day (2007) in Philly. Although I did not walk all 60 miles (didn't train enough..who knew there were so many hills in Philadelphia?) I am proud of the 35 that I did. If you ever have the chance, I highly recommend doing that walk. I like to workout, hangout, go out, & shoot pool. My dad's my best friend and my German Shepherd, Vinny, is my angel. I have the best group of friends/family a girl could ask for. Not a one bailed out on me when I got sick.I also love to go to the race track and bet on horses..no, I don't pick the horses based on their name or color, I can actually read a racing form. I've never cried because of what happend & I've found that me being handicapped bothers people my own age. To ease tension I sometimes say that my lack of limbs is due to "gator wrestling". I was a jogger before and would like to do so now but cannot afford the legs that would allow me that luxery. I'm Catholic and I'm a firm beliver that God will never give you more than you can handle. Right now I'm in college..where I think I'll be until I'm 96. My major is Physical Therapy. ..actually right now it's mathematics/science until I transfer into a physical therapy program. (IF I CAN EVER GET THE SCHOOL TO SEND ME INFORMATION) I've briefly met other handicapped people but do not know any well. And the biggest problem I've encountered since the loss of my limbs is finding pants. I'm new to this site so I really don't understand what I'm doing yet. If anyone writes me or anything like that and I don't write back, I'm not rude..just confused.
