I am a caregiver to my husband who had a massive stroke 5/2000 at 58 years old. It left him right side paralyzed and with severe language disorders---aphasia, apraxia and agraphia. He went from being a physically active guy and a gifted storyteller who talked non-stopped to a man in a wheelchair with a daily vocabulary of 25-30 unprompted words a day. Despite it all, we've made our peace with the stroke and do our best to live life to its fullest each day.
